~Our God is an Awesome God! =) Let's move forward!

Some amazing things have happened this week and it's a joy that can't be contained. :) :) :) so....

2 big things....=)

This year i'm in 4th year physiology (which is a blessing/story in itself) so we have to do a research project. I've been worried about research...but trying to lift it to God. Due to some crazy mixup with placements, I had some doubts about whether I should have gotten the placement I actually have now...cuz I didn't pray about my first choice until after I made it my first choice then...God never directly confirmed it. So I've questioned whether I put it down as my first choice for me...or for God cuz my praying for it afterwards...just didn't yield a direct answer from God. Anyways...that's been a constant doubt in my head though I did not really know how big. So I work for Dr. Cregan but I work more specifically with a lab technician.

Wednesday this week. I started talking to Diana (my lab tech) about her trip to Africa..and I asked her how preparations were going...then about whether she's been to Africa? she says.. no. have you?
me: noo...though it'd prolly be the next place I'd want to go. I went to Australia a few years ago on a missions trip.
Diana: where do you go?
me: Adelaide Australia (she didn't ask me that..:? OH!) I go to the First church of the Nazarene (why would she ask me that...??? UNLESS SHE goes to church!?!) What church do you go to? (smiling but confused)
Diana: West London Alliance church
me:
anyways...we ended up talking the whole morning in the lab about God and about struggles...boldness....me being completely open with her. Then she asks me to pray for Dr. Cregan. She feels he Really needs the Lord. Praise God for burdens.. and she said...maybe that's why you're in my lab so we can pray and God will do great things beginning now. =) =) purpose. maybe. but it's cool that God meets us and takes care of us. Who would've thought, of all labs...the technician I work with is Christian :) :) :) praise God :) And her trip to Africa is actually with Samaritan's Purse =) . Anyways...that's the idea of the story. But it spoke to me. God wants to work in this lab. I know it. I'm praying for boldness for Diana to speak to her boss...and also me...for continuing in the good work God has started.

Second cool cool thing. Obedience brings great joy :) I am overflowing with Joy. The Lord is good. He doesn't need to use us. He can do things by one word alone. But He wants to let us be a part of His Story. On Friday, I ran to catch the bus to fellowship..miss it by 2 sec. see it stop at the light...run to next stop...miss it by 2 seconds again. I decide to walk to school since I enjoy it. Little did I know, it was not a coincidence. Walking brings me close to God...cuz I stop thinking..and i praise and pray to God..focus off me entirely or about other things on my mind. So i started to walk. Praying for people. it was an amazing walk. I had 2 visions in the walk. i will share with you one. I saw myself walking to church...and passing the beggars on the street and I had a mcdonalds breakfast and sat with one of them...and asked them to come walk with me to church. Anyways...i didn't think too much of it and went to ACF.

This morning. I woke up read blogs (weird thing as i normally spend time with the Lord first) ...and I was reminded of the vision and wondered if it was from God. Then I went to do my normal devos and prayed...seeking God. Obedience...i remembered...and prayed..I will Obey. If this is your vision Lord, I will obey and do it. if it isn't, I'll know soon enough when you don't provide anyone. And I made the things straight with God..telling him I will approach the FIRST beggar I see so I didn't chicken out. And it must be between mcdonalds and the church. I prayed against fear. Speaking firmly to myself against Satan and his lies and claiming God's promises and asking Him to move. I want to be part of your kingdom, your army. Please don't let me go. So after reading the word, I set out on my usual but yet not so usual walk to church praising the Lord. As I neared the bridge..I remember thinking...it's not a normal day. Something's going to happen. And as I approaced mcdonalds, I felt myself slowing down...i don't know if i actually slowed down or if I just was thinking so fast, I felt i was moving slower. Doubts and fears filled my head and i thought it'd be so easy to just walk past.. but I remembered if people knew I was doing this...they'd be standing behind me and praying. God is behind me. so....i stopped and bought a coffee and mcdonalds breakfast. I looked down the street and saw no one. And in my heart thinking..perhaps it wasn' t God. in my mind I was like..'but Heidi, you came to bless someone...you can't think that way!" so I walk and I hear a harmonica and I think I knew in my heart, that was the guy. I walk by...but I see him and I walk pass quickly and then stopped where he couldn't see me. Reason being. he was a guy with piercings on his face, a fairly young guy...in kinda raggedgy clothes... I think ppl with piercing sometimes frighten me as I see their piercings first on their face and it disturbs me. And I was standing there praying. God this can't be the guy...he wouldn't ever come to church with me. God is able. I read in the morning in the word. Do not judge. my heart beats a mile a minute or so it feels...i knew this was the one. I stood there and kept praying. I will obey. I turned around and handed him the coffee and food. none of what I wanted to say was there anymore not that I really knew. I could only utter...this is for you from God cuz He loves you. Or something like that. And constantly reminding myself to be honest. I told him why I bought it and how i wouldn't have gotten it any other way. This was meant for you by God. and we talked a bit after we introduced ourselves. Then remembering the second half, i asked him if he'd walk to church with me. I saw him hesitate..look down at his stuff, the food...then said what the heck (or something like that) and he walked with me to church! This was a miracle to me. I never thought he would. And me being me I added in the line...if you don't want to...we can just talk here...but he came. we walked and talked about random things...but wishing for an opportunity to share about God... anyways..>I asked him what he was passionate about. He answered music. Then he asked me...the same. :) :) :) there was my opportunity so I shared a little with him though not the whole gospel.. but we talked about God..and what he thought..and walked all the way to church. he didn't come in...but he left me with a challaenge..and I with him one. But the cool thing was...when I looked at him this second time..I did not see the piercings....but saw love for him.. which I feel must be from God.

So sorry this is such a long entry and I know I have no grammar or paragraphing skills :P hope it made sense,...and if not, you can email me and I'll tell you about it =)

but lots more happened this week with Passion. Prayer before passion. and Operation Christmas Child. May this be just the beginning. Our God is a BIG God. Let's move.

well I haven't blogged in a long while....i know it's an understatement :P Why I'm blogging now..that's a good question cuz I myself don't even know. :? but anywho..

today it hit me for the first time for REAL that wow this is my last year and I don't know where I'll be next year. I mean, I knew this before. I've been telling myself this and trusting God. But today, it hit me and now I KNOW. crazee feeling it is. I don't know what I think about it.

I've been thinking a lot about what Pastor Mike said yesterday at ACF about letting go of our "Issac" if we are called to as Abraham was. And about the absurdity of God's request to Abraham, yet his willingness to obey and follow, trusting God will be God and that His way IS best. As a song says, "I've tasted and I've seen" that God is good and that he is faithful and soo amazing! Praise Him for that! Praise Him for what He has done this week! truely mind boggling! yet amazingly cool! :) Yet this term, I have this unsettling feeling that I've been holding onto something. I just can't figure out what it is. Waiting though until he'll reveal it and hoping that when He does, I won't be afraid to let it go.

I don't want to be left behind. I want to be..more than all I know...part of Jesus' body and army.

As i was about to publish this post, I had the sinking feeling I didn't want to. weird. maybe it's cuz these thoughts are so real to me. so close to my heart. transparency. sometimes scary. But perhaps this is what i need. To let go of me...and what people think of me and Look and see only Jesus.

o/~Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in his wonderful face and the things on earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace.
