Life's little whispers...

Wow, its nearly been a week since I last wrote, no wonder my parents started to get worried when I called home this week =) hehe...understandable now. Its hard to believe yet another week has passed. I have no idea where time goes. It just seems to fly by faster and faster. The last few days I've been waking up early....and many days with fear in my heart. This always seems to happen once in awhile...especially when I know a big change is about to occur and I'm anticipating it....or when I'm unsure about things...

o/~Lord I offer my life to you everything I've been through, use it for your glory. Lord I lift up my days to you, lifting my praise to you as a pleasing sacrifice, Lord I offer you my life.

Lord I'm so glad my life is given to you and you alone. I'm afraid. I know I have this feeling of fear of change. I know change can be good...but...I know...that part of me feels like I can't face it. So I'm so glad that God promised that we're never alone and knowing that he knows the future helps relieve me. These last few days or last week I should say, have been very reflective for me. I started realizing all the things and people that God has blessed me with. I knew when I first decided to come to Australia that I would have to leave the people behind when I headed back to Canada. But I never realized that I would miss those that I've been working with. Its been a blessing that God has blessed me with Anita, Ivan and Tiff. One morning, I woke up, with this realization that I prolly won't have a chance to serve God with them again. At least the 4 of us together. I know this may result one day but the likelyhood is slim. I realized just how amazing it was just that GOd was able to bring all 4 of us together to do the most wonderfulist thing..^_^ SERVE him! ...it has just been a great experience... I hope I haven't annoyed them...hehe...that much.. but yes...they've been great. I've began to see that ....we really need to treasure every moment as we never know when one like it will arise again.

I got to talk to my family yesterday...it was really great. I really miss talking to them...esp Jo =) maybe its just cuz...i don't always get to talk to her when I call home...or whatnot.. it brought a smile to my face when I heard all their voices...esp cuz they all sounded so happy :) But yah.....lotsa people, I wish I could see...that's the thing about being reflective...it also makes me realize how lucky I am to have so many around me...but thinking about it makes me miss them.

There's still so much I want to do, so much I want to get, so many people I want to get to know....before leaving Adelaide. My heart really goes out to those that I've been able to talk to. I really hope that they are seeing God's love for them in their daily lives. I really don't see what kind of difference I have made by coming here...but someone wise :) told me....that I should be more confident about what God can do. It is true. It is GOd who produces fruit and HIM who does the work. Who am I to underestimate what he can do through my weaknesses. For it is, when I am weak, that he is all the more strong. Praise him for that :) I once read, I only do as I can, its God who produces the fruit. So I will continue to trust him and make him my focus and trust (not doubt) that he will work what I may have thought to be impossible. To HIM be the Glory ^_^

Today was a great day :) It wasn't one single thing that made it great but the whole day put together. Last night before going to bed. I decided to pull out my book "my Utmost for His Highest" which I hadn't read for awhile and I flipped to July 23 and read. I could not believe it as I read cuz it was almost exactly what I had been thinking about and learning from my other book. After reading it once, it didn't sink in so I read it again...and again. What did it talk about u wonder? it talks about how the perfect qualities of Jesus Christ are already IN US! it does not happen gradually but instantly when we realize he became for us sanctification."The most wonderful secret of living a holy life does not lie in imitating Jesus , but LETTING the perfect qualities of Jesus exhibit themselves in you" Jesus is already IN US. we just need to LET him exhibit himself in us. " Christ in me" All the qualities of Jesus are in me already at my disposal. All I need to do it LET them be shown ^_^ isn't that amazing? isn't that wonderful? :)

Anyways...that was last night....now this morning...I reread this..passage and got more understanding from it..and I continued on in my reading of the Normal Christian Life. I found this one part of it really really interesting and I would like to share it with you. It has to do with presenting ourselves to God or offering up our lives to Him. Romans 6:13 tells us that God requires us to offer up all parts of our body to him, to give ourselves wholly to him. So what does that mean? it goes to explain.

"If the 10 shillings in my pocket elong to me, then I have full authority over them. But if they belong to another who has committed them to me in trust, then I canot buy what I please with them and I dare not lose them. How many of us dare not use our time or money or talents as we would, because we realize they are the Lord's, not ours? How many of us have such a strong sense that we belong to Another that we dare not squander a shilling of our money, or an hour of our time, or any of our mental or physical powers?

On one occasion a Chinese brother was traveling by train and found himself in a carriage together with 3 non-Christians who, in order to beguile the time, wished to play cards. Lacking a 4th to complete the game, they invited this brother to join them. "I am sorry to disappoint you, " he said, " but I cannot join your game for I have not brought my hands with me." "Whatever do you mean?" they asked in blank astonishment. "This pair of hands does not belong to me, " he said, and then there followed the explanation of the transfer of owndership that had taken place in his life."

This story really made the point perfectly clear in my mind. I always knew that I need to offer my life including everything in my heart and mind to God but I didn't know how deep that really meant. When it asked whether we have such a STRONG sense of being His that we would not dare to squander our time and money.. I started to ask myself if every single moment, everything I did was pleasing to him. I asked whether my time was used for HIs benefit. I realized that I was watching too much TV... and could 've spent that time doing something better with my time. Reading the story about the guy and the cards...at first I thought it was to an extreme-that God wouldn't expect us to do that! But on rereading, I admired the guy for being able to say that they weren't his hands, truely realizing that his whole life is offered to God and EVERYTHING whether big or small must be centered and given to God. ^_^ It made me re evaluate what I was doing every moment of my life, in what I say, the things I do and the things I aim for =) Thank the Lord for this realization! :)

Later on in the day, I really enjoyed the time that I was able to spend with Anita and Ruth. It was great just getting a chance to talk to them one-on-one...just to see what's been on their minds and find out what kind of things that i could help them pray for. I'm really thankful to God for our team here. I know before I came, I was really worried as I didn't know any of them except maybe by name and face. But God's really helped this team grow...and support one another. Its been God's blessing Lord. :) thank you. You always provide the best for us and Lord looking back , I realize just how much you are always looking out for me. Thanks! ^_^

o/~ Looking at his wondrous works I stand amazed in awe,
How can any person doubt that he is Lord, since nature sings out his praises and
we ought to join, share in this grand worship to the Lord.

The warm sun is shining down causing a reflection in the shimmering waters of the lake. The water ripples in an endless number of patterns reflecting the sun's rays. Rustling leaves in the tree and birds chirping are the main sounds that can be heard...in the background in the far far distance, you can possibly detect the sounds of a car and an airplane. A nice breeze blows my hair into my face as I gaze looking at the beautiful scenery around me. AmaZing! :) so beautiful.. so awe striking :)

It has been an amazingly relaxing day :) nothing really planned for today...it started off with devotions...and it was really nice....because of the busyness of the last two weeks...devotions....always had a time limit... but today...I did not feel rushed at all....just nice to spend time with God...learning more about Him...and about what he HAS DONE...for me.

Lately...I've been really...troubled I guess you could say. It seemed as if everyone could do everything...and I could do nothing. It seemed as though...they could do everything right and all I could do was wrong.. and...i guess I've been wondering about friendships for a long while now.. there are people I care really deeply for and about...and yet they seem to have no interest back.. and I think I have been comparing what people can do with what I can do...and I seem to fall short on every angle... I wondered if God was disappointed in me..

Today....God showed me something...:) something so obvious but yet I could never see nor understand. He Loves me for me. He love you for you. I knew that before but I didn't KNOW that. I know that doesn't make much sense... but...its just that I knew it in my head, but...in my heart...I kept trying to be better. two thousand years ago, I died with Him. I am IN Christ and I can do things pleasing to him becasue I do it in him. :) such joy to know that he loves me. ^_^

KOALA and kangaroos!!!!! i finally Got to see them!!!!!! ^_^ yay. I had been waiting sooo long to see them and finally today we went to Cleland Wildlife Park and got to feed them and pet them and take lot and lots of pictures!! ^_^ heeheh.... Koalas actually look like they do in the pictures...hehe...sooooooo cute!!! aahh! =P anyways...and kangaroos too....especially the baby ones...they are so soft :) hehe. God blessed us with another BEAUTIFUL day..bright and sunny and quite warm :) so we could go to the park. It was an enjoyable and relaxing day that we were able to spend with the animals and with a bunch of the teens! :) Thank the Lord for the conversations and fun times we had! ^_^

~HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO......IRINA AND DORA ^_^ yay! :) sorry couldn't be there in person to wish it to you both =)

After Cleland, we went to Clifford and Jeffery's house for dinner :). They had lots of yummy food. I was craving broccoli and cauliflower and they had both :) yay. Yum. (I know I'm weird) Anyways....it was quite a lot of fun hanging with the boys :) hehe...Jeffery and Tiff were playing with.....um....spin toys (I dunno what they're called) ...and well later on in the night, Clifford played on the electric organ for us. IT WAS soooooo cool!!! I've never seen anyone play anything like that before. His hands, his feet were moving simulataneously sooo quickly!!!! I was so impressed and Amazed. It was like he had his own band in the room but in reality, it was only him. He seemed to be enjoying himself so much :) Ya...heaps cool! I could never be so coordinated to do all that. I could see him looking at his feet.. and I would wonder how his hands could keep moving without hitting the wrong notes. ^_^ WOW! is all I can say.

Overall, a great day :) very relaxing...and...fun ^_^. Gotta go now. But...i'll write more lates! bye.

Hiya!! wow...its been awhile since I've written! Everyday just keep passing by faster than the previous and its already ... the 15th! craziness!! Last week was such a FUN ^_^ yet crazyly busy week!
we had the chance to hang out with a bunch of different pplz :) :) Most memorable thing was JAM NIGHT ^_^. I was sorta worried about how it would turn out and whether people would go to it or not. But I found out that I didn't need to worry. God had everything planned out.. and things were HEAPS :P of fun! The turnout was amazing! we had over 15 pplz....and we decorated the church bulletin board, played songs, jammed...and also got to know one another a little better :)

Saturday we visited Kat Phin and MuyJhou's mom and she made sticky rice for us for lunch. It was really interesting!. She made it the old fashioned way in a basket and such and we got to eat traditionnally with our HAnds!! hehe....so cool! Later that night, we went to Man Hei's place to make "jong" and...make dough for "bow" (chinese bread) and pizza! IT WAS SOOOOOO yummy. hehe....bread is yummy. Uncle Marchie also made Tiramisu cake!!! (hehe...JO REMEMBER that movie :P) it was different but very interesting tasting :)

Sunday, anita and Ivan went to their uni retreat and uncle George and Auntie Monica were really nice to invite us to eat dinner with them. Church was quite good today, a lot of interesting things happened. A person from Sydney came to visit the church and during service, Auntie Sandy motionned me outside. I was like "what did I do wrong?? :(" but...she needed me to help these ppl by putting the kids into sunday school classes and bringing the adults to service. Me not knowing all that much...with God's help, managed to do that. It was really neat being able to talk to these people :) God really helped me out cuz I dunno how I was able to start talking to them and such but he gave me confidence and the words to say to help them feel more comfortable. After bball, we went to Gloria's house :). We got to play some tennis!! ^_^ (sooooooo fun!) and...helped make dumplings and just had fun chatting and making things together :)

Its been so busy this passed week that when I had time to sit down and do my devos, it was all the more calm and quiet and peaceful and ......just....great to spend time with God with no noise except the birds chirping. I realized how lucky I was that I am able to do devotions outside everyday. At home, I would be doing it indoors...but here, I have the chance to sit outside, sometimes in the sun. Enjoying the bright light, the blue skies, the "winter" breeze...the birds chirping...leaves rustling... it was just so beautiful, amazing, Awesome!...I wish I had the words to describe it...

Today (tuesday), we were going to go to Cleland the wildlife park to see KOALAS :P and kangaroos!! but...the weather SAID it was going to rain so we cancelled it and decided to go rock climbing instead. Guess what?!? it didn't rain. It was a BeAuTiFUL day.. ^_^. Ahh well, God has HIs plan. :) it was still heaps of fun I reckon (tiff :P) And on our way back home...the funniest thing happened! :) hehehe hahahahahaha.....we were turning a corner on the bus...and I was bracing myself..for the sharp turn..But...the bus...went up on the curb unexpectedly...causing me to bounce upward...then land on my bottom!!!! on the ground!!!! ahhahahaha :) sooooooo funny and embarrasing at the same time O_O. Luckily...not too many ppl saw :) hehe.....

Prayer...is a powerful thing... one thing i was reminded of this week. If we are constantly praying, thus our minds are constantly focused on him... there is no way for satan to attack us cuz he has no time to. No way to sneak in, if our thoughts are fixed solely on Jesus. Turn your eyes upon him. ^_^

Sunday, July 06, 2003

Time is flying by.. its already July the 6th or technically July the 7th as it is passed 12:00. I only have a month and 3 days left in adelaide. Its craziness!!! Its been a while since a last wrote but quite a lot has happened since then.

Thurs: hehe....me and Tiff had a great time spending the day together prepping sunday school and trying (keyword: trying :P) to fix a bike! :) ...and then..going to play volleyball!!!!! ^_^ I love playing volleyball though I'm not good at all! :) ehhe...anyways...it was tons of fun though I realized just how lack of skills I had ^_^ hehe...

Fri: woke up..didn't notice but found out when I finished devos that my two hands were different colours.. hmm..I thought. Looking more closely, I realized it was cuz I got this HUGE PURPLE BRUISE ON my one hand! :) isn't that cool!?! :) ehhe...I know I'm weird. Its really cool...its really purple and...yeah...really big...but it doesn't really hurt...just looks horrifying :P Fellowship at night was alright...we had a scavenger hunt and played jeopardy ^_^ after to re-enforce what we hoped they learnt. :)

Sat: went out with Isabella and her friend ^_^ twas fun :) watched Sinbad and hung around the mall and did various things..:) hehe.. I had to dash around the mall and walked sooooo incredibly fast to try to get everything I needed to get before I had to meet them :) Luckily....I got it all done :) It was a great day. I haven't really had the chance to meet one-on-one with many of the people here...so it was nice to do that. Just get to know Isabella a bit better ^_^. She's really an interesting person...hope to get a chance to get to know her more :)

Sun: TODAY! :) hehe...today was TONS of FUN :) ESpecially cuz we got to lead the children's program and play with all the kids!!! ^_^ yay. We sang fun songs..and did actions and became almost like kids again just like the old days when I got to lead singspiration at KWCAC :) I took lots and lots and lots of pics :) hehe...so fun. ! I miss the kids back home! :(
But yes it was great to get to play with the kids here as we don't normally get much chance to do so :)

anyways...I hope to put up some pics soon...

Today also I got a chance after chapel band to play some songs with Lynn... and I found some of my old all time favourite songs...I love the songs...especially the lyrics.

o/~Draw me close to you, never let me go.. I lay it all down again to hear you say that I'm your friend. Help me find a way bring me back to you. You're all I want, you're all I've ever needed. You're all I want. Help me know you are near.

I think these last few days, I've really been asking God to truely open my eyes so that I may see things clearly. There are so many things that I am confused about and wanting answers to. I know God has the perfect timing and he WILL open my eyes so that I can see in HIS time. I just hope it will be soon :)

o/~ You are my strength when I am weak, you are the treasure that I seek, you are my all in all. Seeking you as a precious jewel, LOrd to give up I'd be a fool. You are my all in all. Jesus, Lamb of God. Worthy is your name. Taking my sin, my cross, my shame, rising again I bless your name you are my all in all. When I fall down you pick me up, when I am dry you fill my cup. You are my all in all.

Hearing/ reading this song once again now reminds me just how much God's love surrounds me. And that he always seems to be there when I fall down. I keep falling but its miraculous how each time, he's there to pick me up, brush me off and help me keep going in his name :) Thank you Father for your goodness. I ask for you to OPEN MY EYES.

INSPIRATION~
o/~I lift my eyes up to the mountain where does my help come from? my help comes from you, maker of Heaven, creator of the earth. Oh How I need you Lord, you are my only hope. You're my only prayer. Oh I will wait for you to come and rescue me. Come and give me life o/~

Tuesday, July 01, 2003

Hey! I'm actually posting earlier today :) tehee...usually I post like...at midnight (not intentionnally of course :P) Its only 11 right now! hehe. Today was an interesting day =) It started off with devos which was really interesting! =) I've been going through the book "the Normal Christian Life", I've been going through it really slowly but I think its good cuz I'd read a section a couple times..and...think about it. I've been getting a lot out of it ^_^. which makes me happy :) I'm still waiting for God to show me...for His timing. Its hard cuz I just want to KNOW now :) hehe...but I know he wants me to learn and to know, he WILLl reveal it to me. But IN HIS time. It hasn't happened yet. I can't wait till he does though!

Afterwards, we went into the city and went to IP's cafe for lunch to meet Chanel's mom. It was really good...yummy food. We didn't end up finishing till around 2:00. Then we went browsing for fruits and veggies at Central Market. Meeting up with Jessie and Grace after, we went to see Bruce Almighty. I never did want to see that movie just cuz the previews didn't really sound that good and I wasn't sure about the whole message that it would portray. But watching it, it was better than I expected. (DON"T read this next part if you want to see it and don't want to know ...) I liked the part when he surrenders to God. It reminded me of how many humans act as though they are God, trying to run their own lives (in this movie, he's given God's powers but in real life, we're not) but, even with the powers, he realizes that HE himself doesn't know what is best and cannot help everyone. He gives it to God. He surrenders to God's will :) Though I didn't agree with everything the movie said, it was a lot better than I expected and made me think, so in that way it was good :)

Afterwards, we went to a KOREAN BBQ. I've only gone once before, with my sis, my aunt Susan and my mom a LONG time ago. Those of you who have it all the time prolly think I'm weird, but its where you bbq your own food :) hehe..it was soooo yummy but sooooo filling! They had kangaroo meat there! ...I didn't try any. just the thought of eating a kangaroo didn't sit well with me. Anyways, now we all smell! :P :P hehe..cuz of the smoke and stuff.

Deciding to go to the mountain top afterwards, we piled into cars and went there. It was soo pretty seeing all the lights of the city and just looking at it from above. After being admongst all the people and seeing some ugly things happen in the world, just looking at the city from a higher place made it look so much more peaceful and prettie.

Overall, it was a great day to spend with the chinese uni students :) doing some different things and just having a good time together. :)
